My name is Kena and I’ve been avid wig and weave wearer for the 15 years.  My journey to self discovery has been a long one. I have always taken pride in my hair but chose to wear weaves and wigs; because quite frankly, it gave me the flexibility that I could not achieve with my own hair. I love the versatility that wigs allow me to express. One day I can sport a short sassy do, and the next, long cascading curls.

I’m Wanda and after many decades of harsh chemicals and years of styling, I had enough!  In today’s economy, I had to find a way to look my best while being economical. Wigs offered me the versatility that I am looking for.  They fit my budget and gave my hair the much needed rest from perms and other chemicals. I was able to experiment with an array of styles and textures that allowed me to project how I felt inside.  I realized that I didn’t need to break the bank to look my best.  These days I can be Oprah during the day and Beyonce at night.

Between the two of us, we have seen it all. That’s why in the fall of 2008, we were inspired to share our secret with the world.  A Girl’s Best Friend is committed to providing quality wigs and hair pieces for everyone. Our vision is to encourage individuals to feel beautiful. Being from a small town, we know firsthand, the lack of variation of wigs.  In our experience, many of them were heavy, bulky and quite frankly looked like a wig. Today you can bid farewell to future bad hair days and it’ll be our little secret.
